He has over 10 years of experience in Business Applications and Business Intelligence solution delivery. Kumar is one of the leading experts in Oracle BI Architecture and Metadata Design.

Prior to KPI, Kumar was Director for Product Engineering at Oracle and built and managed Oracle's Business Intelligence Engineering organization in the India Development Center.

Kumar has a Masters in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mysore, India.

Where is your hometown?  Bangalore, India.

Describe your role at KPI... As the VP / GM of the KPI Offshore Technology Center, I am responsible for building a high quality, well trained team of BI professionals in India and establishing efficient processes and standards that ensure a high quality delivery center for KPI's customers around the world.

Describe your professional background... Prior to KPI, I was Director for Product Engineering at Oracle and built and managed Oracle's Business Intelligence Engineering organization in the India Development Center. Prior to that I spent over 15 years in the United States in various consulting roles, delivering business applications solutions and business process reengineering projects to customers.

Describe your educational background... I have a BS in Mechanical Eng from the University of Mysore, India and an MS in Industrial Eng from the University of Arizona, USA.

What do you see as the #1 challenge with business intelligence?  In order for customers to fully realize the value of their investment in Business Intelligence tools, a non-report centric, business process / workflow approach to BI Implementations is extremely important.

What was your first job?  Teaching Assistant at the University of Arizona.

What do you do in your free time?  I hike, camp and love being outdoors and outside the crowded cities that have come to dominate our lives.
