Client Analytics (BPRA) solutions (ODS and EDW) use Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) as the data integration tool to load their data warehouse. As OWB was reaching its end of life, the client wanted to identify a suitable replacement ETL tool and rebuild the ETL adaptors for their analytical solutions.

Why Was KPI Partners Chosen?

After an exhaustive search for a replacement, the client picked Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) as their data integration tool. The client chose KPI as their implementation partner due to KPI's proven track record, a vast number of successful ODI implementations, and KPI's past experience in the higher education industry.

Project Summary

KPI Partners analyzed existing ODS and EDW architectures and proposed a revised architecture with ODI 12c replacing the existing OWB integration tool.

More than 3000 OWB mappings from existing products were converted and validated successfully in the ODI 12c repository. Oracle Migration Utility for OWB to ODI 12c was used whenever possible and manual conversions were performed for complex OWB mappings.

The migration process and regression test scenarios were executed on time and the client was able to keep up with the product's release dates. The solution passed client's stringent testing criteria and was launched successfully.
