CRM Analytics Knowledge Transfer & Training

This project, with Siebel CRM as the primary data source required the integration of mainframe data containing sales quotas with CRM data containing sales opportunities. The dimensions were conformed between the two data sources and historical snapshots were also taken of the mainframe data and the Siebel CRM opportunity data. This project won Oracle’s Customer Excellence Award at Oracle OpenWorld.

The knowledge transfer plan for this project was as follows:

  • A key client team member took training courses.  This individual took over ETL/DAC and OBIEE support at the end of the 6 month project:  KPIU 414: Informatica ETL & KPIU 416: Datawarehouse Administration Console (DAC) 
  • Another PNC IT staff member took KPIU 340: Oracle BI Analysis & Dashboards before the start of the project. This individual became the lead OBIEE administrator and developer for PNC Bank. A third PNC staff member had prior Informatica experience and was assigned the task of bringing non-Siebel data into the data warehouse. This individual was assigned to other Informatica development projects.
  • At the end of the 6 month project, the PNC Bank team achieved Level 2 proficiency in extract-transform-load (ETL) and DAC and Level 3 in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE). For large projects, PNC Bank continues to use expert consulting resources for both their expertise and to manage their permanent employee count.
